D Geology(A) Candidates who have completed any one of the following: A two year/four semester Master’s Degree programme after a three year Bachelor’s degree programme, with at least 55% marks in aggregate or equivalent grade. Or A one year/two semester Master’s Degree programme after a four year Bachelor’s degree programme, with at least 55% marks in aggregate or equivalent grade. Or A four year Bachelor’s Degree programme with at least 75% marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade. Or An M.Phil. Degree with at least 55% marks or its equivalent grade, wherever applicable. Or Candidates holding an equivalent qualification from an accredited/recognized foreign educational institution. A relaxation of 5% marks or its equivalent grade is allowed for candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC (Non-Creamy Layer)/Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD)/Economically Weaker Section (EWS) and other categories of candidates as per the decisions of the Commission from time to time. (B) Candidates who are offered/qualified for: Junior Research Fellowship of UGC/CSIR/GATE and similar national-level fellowships/tests based on an interview, as applicable. Or NET score in the following categories as per UGC Public Notice No. F.4-1(UGC-NET Review Committee) 2024(NET)/140648 dated 27.03.2024: (i) Eligible for admission to Ph.D. with JRF and appointment as Assistant Professor; (ii) Eligible for admission to Ph.D. without JRF and appointment as Assistant Professor; (iii) Eligible for admission to Ph.D. programme only and not for the award of JRF or appointment as Assistant Professor. The marks obtained in NET by candidates in categories (i) and (ii) shall be valid for the period prescribed by the UGC for admission to Ph.D. Selection for admission to the Ph.D. programme shall be based on the criteria prescribed by the University in accordance with the UGC Regulations and applicable UGC notifications. The weightage assigned to the qualifying national-level examination score and interview/viva-voce shall be as prescribed by the University.
